Model of plate tectonics

1. Model of plate tectonics

         

The theory of plate tectonics is a doctrine of dynamic mechanism. According to it, the lithosphere of the Earth is divided into some plates controlled by seismic activities and deep-seated fault zones of different types. They are capable to relatively move in comparison with one another.

General model of deposition

2. General model of deposition

This model presents depositional processes in different positions on the Earth’s crust: continent, continental shelf, continental slope, abyssal sea.

Rock forming cycle

3. Figures illustrating transgressive and regressive cycles, main plates of the Earth, weathering mechanism forming soil horizons, cycles of rocks in the nature.

Samples related to processes happening in the cosmos and geological phenomena: magmatic, sedimentary, metamorphic and weathering samples (meteorites, kaolin, pegmatite).
