On 23 January 2006, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment enacted Circular No.01/2006/TT-BTNMT providing guidance on the implementation of some Articles of Decree No. 160/2005/ND-CP dated 27 December 2005 of the Government stipulating detailed guidance on the implementation of the Mineral Law and the Law on Amendment of and Addition to some Articles of the Mineral Law. The main content of the Circular fucuses on guiding the formulation and evaluation of mineral prospecting and exploration projects; Forms of Application, Forms of licences for mineral activities; Forms of  the maps of areas under application; and Forms of reports on mineral activities

Circular No.01/2006/TT-BTNMT shall take effect after 15 days since the date when it is released on Official Gazette, and shall replace Circular No.10/TT-DCKS dated 13 September 1997 of the Ministry of Industry; Decision No. 06/2003/QD-BTNMT dated 19 September 2003 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, promulgating Regulations on Sequence and Procedures for Issuing Mineral Activity Licences, and Decision No.23/2004/QD-BTNMT dated 28 October 2004 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, stipulating regulations on Reporting in Mineral Activities.
